Genes
Genes are units of heredity that are transferred from parents down to their offspring. They are used to determine the traits and characteristics the offspring will inherit. You, Me, and everyone else on this planet have around 24,000 genes that make up our body. Even our brain function and our own behavior's are partially determined by genes. For the most part, genes are what determine an individuals hair or skin color, feet or hand size, and almost everything an individual's body is made up of.
Stem Cells
What are Stem Cells? Why Do They Matter?A stem cell is an undifferentiated cell of a eukaryotic organism that can be used in the production of indefinitely more cells of the same type and can be used to create other certain cells. Stem cells are like the body's building blocks that are used to create almost everything that the body is made up of. There are two specific ways that stem cells are differentiated inedto regular cells. First is that they are unspecialized, and able to renew themselves into new cells through cell division. Second, stem cells can be used to create some tissues and organisms that are able to perform certain bodily functions.

What Medical Benefits Do Stem Cells Present?Stem Cells are what the body uses as its building blocks for growth right? Well, this question is what scholars and scientists are researching. If stem cells are what the human body uses to build, and heal itself, the theory is that these cells could be used to grow tissues, or even organs that could be used in medicine. Embryonic stem cells are unlike adult stem cells, they are unrestricted to any particular tissue, enabling them to produce all types of cells. When stem cells create deformed or diseased cells, it is conceptual that a procedure could replace these cells, and regrow the tissues affected. If this is true, deformities, injuries, burn victims, anyone who has a severe injury could have that part of their body potentially regrown, to a more healthy state.
